Essentiality and simplicity in the birch furniture of the Neapolitan designer Mario Pagliaro, born in 1981, designer of furnishing accessories in wood and cardboard and one passion for drawing, thus describes his idea of ​​making design: "I never know where to get, but I know I come to a satisfactory solution different from the previous, which is renewed each time " It all starts with careful research, mainly focused on the expressiveness of the material, trying to honor it and not replace it.
The method is simple and consists of necessary operations, arranged in a logical order dictated by experience. Following a design philosophy closely linked to today's techniques, the resulting aesthetics is nothing but the result of the most suitable processing of the material used. This is how Mario Pagliaro's design objects, simple and essential pieces of furniture, come to life characterized by a high aesthetic quality that represents the direct consequence of the technique realization used, where the laser cutting, burning the edges of the multilayer, defines the side profiles defining the design and denouncing the joints. Moreover, thanks to his interest in the classic "Munari method", he has patented assembly systems to make some of his ideas achievable. Including the "system for making furniture in cardboard "that arises from the need to have a sustainable and comfortable furnishing product able to reduce the impact of our lifestyle on the environment, without obviously forgetting the aesthetics that comes from that production technique. With this system it is thus possible to make furniture with a very low cost and very short processing times. In this collection, and present at the SpazioTID showroom in Baranzate, near Milan, there is the Emergency Desk, a birch plywood desk, completely dismountable in which the desk can be assembled without glues or screws but with simple joints and the Cro-ce bookcase, also made of birch wood, laser cut, whose rigorous design is proportioned offers the possibility of being enlarged, disassembled, and quickly reassembled by means of simple joints. Finally, everything is available in a practical and above all simple packaging.
